She had shot 595 while winning the Team bronze with Kavita in the CWG.Kavita, who finished 28th with 390 (96 98 98 98) had 27 perfect tens while Tejaswini, who is the world champion in 50m prone, also tallied the same with 24 Perfect tens to finish a distant 33rd from 54 shooters. She started brilliantly with a 99 but then fell off to bring off scores of 98 98 and 95.Kavita told PTI that this was only her third event after she made her debut in the World Championships.”This is only my third event after the world championship. I am improving,” said the Bangalore-based Kavita who took to the sport four years ago.Asked about Tejeswini’s poor show in an event that’s not per favourite one, Kavita Said “it happens, it’s just a game”.Omkar Singh, who won the 50m pistol individual gold in CWG, entered the final by finishing fifth in the qualifiers with 557 points. T20: India beat South Africa by 21 runs

first_imgIt was an easy win for India in the one-off Twenty20 international against South Africa in Durban on Sunday.Rohit Sharma plays a shot during the T20 match against South AfricaIndia won the match by 21 runs as South Africa chasing 169 could only manage to put 147/9 on board in their stipulated 20 overs. The South Africa opener Morne van Wyk, who scored an impressive 67 in 39 balls, was the only high point in their batting line-up that didn’t really pick up on the day.India left-arm medium-pacer Ashish Nehra was the first to strike. He castled Hashim Amla on 1. Amla was looking to play across the line but failed and the ball crashed into his off stump. That wicket started the fall as the Protea batsmen merely paid quick visits to the pitch.Later down the order South Africa skipper Johan Botha scored 25 off 22 balls before falling to Nehra, but the rest of he batsmen couldn’t stay for long.Yusuf Pathan was the other India bowler who claimed two scalps in the day. He accounted for David Miller and Robin Petersen.Earlier, India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni elected to bat after winning the toss and but India opener Murali Vijay, who has been off-form from sometime now, fell to Wayne Parnel on 14 even as the India score read 22/1.But, in came Rohit Sharma and up went the strike rate. The two milked the Protea bowlers to achieve the desired result with the bat.The two were especially brutal on Makhaya Ntini, who is playing in his last international match before retirement.advertisementSharma struck a four in his over and then Kohli followed it will more hits across the park in he same over. He hit two consecutive fours and big six as India accumulated 20 runs from it.But Johan Botha ensured that Kohli didn’t stay at the crease for long and send him back on 28 before he could set the Moses Mabhida Stadium track on fire. But Rohit Sharma remained and continued the plunder. He finally fell to J.P. Duminy on 53 as the India score read 109/3. Sharma was awarded the Man-of-the-Match award for his exploits. Finally, Suresh Raina (41) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (10) put 32 runs for the sixth wicket to help India put a decent 168 on board.Raina fell on the last ball of the innings to Juan Theron.last_img read more
